ASB around our market towns of Kirkbymoorisde and Helmsley has seen some acts of criminal damage and vandalism. These incidents have ranged from damage at play parks with the presence of smashed glass to the lighting of small fires. The Police Team are aware of and have assisted in the investigation into a series of fires both in Monk Garden Lane and Eastgate for which suspects have been arrested.

The Neighbourhood Police Team is conducting high visibility patrols and working with both Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside Town Councils in Crime prevention and detection, partnership working and exploring diversionary routes.

We are investigating offences involving green laneing and unauthorised vehicular incursion onto National Parks and heritage sites.

Patrols are being conducted of areas in Ryedale and Whitby in relation to s tackling off-road motorcyclists and 4x4 users who are damaging established paths and trails and risking damaging habitats of ground nesting birds. there have been instances of significant damage caused to National Park property by motor vehicles also
We have seen a continuation of this anti-social vehicle use and a specific Police operation will starting shortly
